Other Lineages of the Carib Community

Given the incomplete nature of the material provided on this site, only limited details are provided below. Two of the other main lineages of the Carib Community are the Farfan and Campo lineages, for which only brief information can be presented for the time being. Additional material on the Assing lineage is included, given its prominent presence in the life of the community.

Clemencia Hill-Assing

From Tracy Assing, a descendant and writer: "Clemencia Hill, whose father was a Venezuelan tribesman and whose mother could trace her roots to Trinidad’s original inhabitants."

Valentina Assing-Medina (right, holding umbrella)

Valentina is the current Queen of the Carib Community. Born Assing, she comes from a long line of Assings resident in Arima. She is the daughter of Clemencia Hill and Thompson Assing, and is the wife of John "Bertie" Medina.

Zachary Medina

Zachary is the grandson of Valentina Assing-Medina, and has performed in the role of King of the (Santa Rosa)Festival on more than one occasion.
